Laura Vang: AT ExpertHi. I?m Laura Duval, the Assistive Technology Specialist at Services Maximizing Independent Living and Empowerment (SMILE) in Yuma, AZ. I have been working with people with disabilities since my teens.

Due to my accident, which left me a paraplegic, I had to take a five-year break from work. It was very hard to relive my life and start over. But let me tell you with self-confidence and the will to achieve, anything is possible.

I have been with SMILE for almost two years now and am continuing computer education at the local college. I use what I learn to teach computer and assistive technology skills to those with a disability and hope that I can help make a difference in their lives.

I hope that I can also help answer any questions you may have about assistive technology. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have and I will do my best to answer it.
